MSI PRO B550M-VC WiFi ProSeries Motherboard- $84

I ordered this brand new when it was on sale for $75 from Amazon. With the discount, this was preferred over buying used for $50 or an AliExpress board.

Nvidia Gigabyte 2060 Super 8gb - $75

I came across this listing on OfferUp for $90. I offered $75 and the seller accepted.

3x 1TB HDDs - $27 eBay

While I normally prefer to buy hard drives locally in bulk, they’re not always available. I’ve found eBay to be a reliable source at ~$10 for used 1TB SATA drives.

Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz 16GB (2x8GB) - $20

Listed for $20 on Facebook Marketplace, falls in the price range so an easy buy.

be quiet! Pure Base 500 - $10

I first saw this listing for $40 and found it interesting but too pricey so I saved it to my watchlist. I was notified the seller had cut the price to $10, at which point it became an instant buy. My plan is to use the Corsair H100i v2 from this haul since this case doesn’t have a window and thus doesn’t need ARGB fans.

PC – Free (Family)

My father-in-law was downsizing and gave me his spare PC. It came in an absolutely massive Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case, which I was able to sell on Craigslist for $30. I also sold the Noctua NF-A14 chromax.black.swap fan for $15 on OfferUp. I’m planning on re-casing the rest of these parts into the be quiet! Pure Base 500 above. Here is the parts list:

Type Part
CPU Intel i7-8700
Motherboard ASRock Z370 Pro4
RAM 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000Mhz (2x8GB)
GPU Gigabyte Windforce 3X GTX 1070
Storage 1TB Samsung 870 EVO
Fans Noctua NF-A14 chromax.black.swap
PSU EVGA Supernova 750 G2
Case Phanteks Enthoo Luxe

10x Patriot 512GB P220 Sata SSD - $276

Since I have several builds lined up, I decided to purchase a multipack of SSDs off Amazon. When I first started I would only use 250-256GB SSDs but found they fill up too quickly with the size of modern games. 480-512GB SSDs are only ~$10 more but offer double the capacity. At less than $30 for a 512GB SSD, I considered this a good deal.

EVGA 650 GQ Gold PSU - $20

I came across this PSU listed for $25 on Facebook. I offered $20 and the seller accepted.

3x Be Quiet Pure Wings 2 BQ PUW2-14025-LS-10 140mm Fans - $17

After discovering that the Corsair H100i v2 appeared to have some issues, I got these to install in the be quiet! Pure Base 500. They were listed for $17 on eBay and I offered $15, which the seller accepted.

Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8GB) - $20

I came across this listing for $25 on Facebook Marketplace and offered $20, which the seller accepted.

Sentey Extreme Rock Power ERP600-SS 600W - $20 OfferUp

This PSU is perfect for a budget build and was in the right price range of ~$20 for a 500-600W. An easy buy.

EVGA RTX 2070 - $75

This popped up on Facebook Marketplace at what I thought is a really good price. I messaged about 30 minutes after the listing went up and the seller told me someone else had reached out right before I did. I let him know that I was willing to pick up immediately. According to the seller, the other buyer stopped responding, and so I was able to purchase it.

Ryzen 5 5600X - $80

Having scored the 2070, I started having designs to put together another higher-end build with the MSI B550M board. I already had a Ryzen 5 3600 I was planning on using, but ideally I would like to pair it with a stronger CPU and a Ryzen 5 5600X popped up on Facebook Marketplace for $100. I offered $75 and the seller countered with $80 if I could pick up that day, which I did.

2x Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 CPU Cooler - $22

These popped up on Woot for $9.99. A good budget ARGB CPU cooler, so I bought 2 for future builds.
